Malta : Coastal Defence

Malta had countless numbers of both coastal defence towers and gun emplacements, ranging in eras right up to WWII. Many of the towers dotted around the coast had storage and transport tunnels built underneath them. This particular tower is on Melehia Bay, to the right as you look out to sea. The gentleman who owned / managed this location was kind enough to let me in to the tunnels.

The tunnels had been cleared and made-safe some years ago when Malta's tourism trade kicked off, however due to financial restrictions, the system was never opened to the public.
